Guides & Tips
How the gear systems work, in plain words, with the sources behind each tip.
- Rune Engine: how it works and how to plan itThe Rune Engine opens at level 55 and holds up to five elemental crystals. Each crystal gives one primary effect (trait), three element colours that count toward resonance, and three random affixes. Build a useful resonance first, then chase orange crystals with the right trait, fix their colours with Harmony, and reroll affixes last.as of 2026-09-25 (SEA)
- Special skills (affixes): how they roll and how to target themSpecial skills are the traits that roll on forged gear. Weapons and accessories share a class-specific pool that changes by level bracket; armor and cape share one universal defensive pool; shoes and off-hands get none. Use the wishlist and pity counters, forge cheap gear for traits, and transfer good traits upward.as of 2026-09-25 (SEA)
- Relics: what they are and whether they are in SEAYes, relics are live in SEA. They unlock at level 65 and fill eight linked slots with stat items. Matching pairs activate a resonance bonus (about +3 of a stat for blue pairs, +10 for legendary), each relic has a rerollable bonus attribute, and later Divine Relics add class set bonuses.as of 2026-09-25 (SEA)
- Apocalypse traits (level 90 system)Apocalypse is a level 90 gear system that is live on the Taiwan server but not yet in SEA as of 25 September 2026. SEA creators are already telling players to keep spare gold and red gear for it. It adds slot tiers, seasonal Star Cores from the Calamity Zone instance, and weapon traits that change class skills.as of 2026-09-25 (SEA)
- Card priority and card fusion for buildsEvery equipment slot, accessories included, holds cards. Fill every slot with something useful first, fix the status problems your content throws at you, then move to build multipliers and MVP cards. Improve cards with Reforge, then Fusion, then Reshape, in that order.as of 2026-09-25 (SEA)
- Refining and enchanting prioritiesRefine the main weapon first, then pieces that complete a set, then weak armor, and accessories last. The SEA data caps refine at +20 with protected checkpoints at +6, +9, +12 and +15. Enchant gems add flat stats and set effects; one advanced gem plus high-level common gems is the efficient F2P mix.as of 2026-09-25 (SEA)
- Gear progression from early to end gameGear mostly comes from forging in level brackets (25, 40, 55, 70, 80, 90), topped up by royal (red) boxes at level 80 and Shadow Gear from Final Mirage at level 75. Typical armor path: Full Plate set at 40, Gale set at 55-72, then Odin or General set at 80-82. Apocalypse arrives at 90.as of 2026-09-25 (SEA)
- Leveling routes and XP efficiencyLeveling combines main story unlocks, open-field grinding, dungeons, and event bonuses. The fastest players optimize travel time, kill speed, and quest turnover rather than fighting the toughest monsters available.as of 2026-08 (SEA)
- Zeny farming and the player economyZeny comes from Prontera stalls, field materials, and forge flips - not from vendoring cards you will socket next week. Any class can stall; Merchant/Whitesmith just gets better forge and cart tools.as of 2026-08 (SEA)
- MVP hunting and participation lootMVPs are the primary source of refine stones, rare cards, craft materials, and mounts. ROW uses participation loot - contribution (damage, healing, tanking, buffs) qualifies you for rolls even if you did not land first hit.as of 2026-08 (SEA)
- Refining: safe levels and when to stopSafe Refinement removes gear destruction: failed attempts never break gear or reduce its refine level through +15 - you just spend another stone. The challenge shifts from gambling to resource farming.as of 2026-08 (SEA)
- Card album and card farmingThe Card Album is an account-wide collection system: every unique card registered (inserted or stored) fills an album slot, and milestones grant set bonuses to the whole account. Common drops fill the Red Book fast; MVP cards fill the slow Black Book.as of 2026-08 (SEA)
- Daily and weekly checklistThe game rewards consistency: zeny, enhancement materials, reputation, and event tokens reset on daily/weekly timers. A minimal routine takes 20-30 minutes; a complete one can fill a two-hour session.as of 2026-08 (SEA)
- Beginner mistakes to avoidMost beginners lose days of progress to preventable mistakes - not because the game is punishing but because systems interact in non-obvious ways. These ten habits are the highest-leverage fixes.as of 2026-07 (SEA launch)
- PvP and guild war tipsROW offers structured 1v1/3v3/5v5 arena modes alongside classic large-scale guild warfare. There is no Combat Power (CP) number - outcomes depend on skill execution, build choices, positioning, and timing.as of 2026-08 (SEA)
