High Wizard Ice-Lightning
High WizardAoE farming, sustained boss DPS and PvP controlAs of 2026-09 (SEA, Lv.70+ advanced 2nd job)

The Wizard Storm Gust / Lord of Vermilion core, boosted by Storm Mastery's Electrocution stacks (extra chain-lightning damage), Frost Mastery, and Mystical Amplification, a timed cast-time and damage buff. Damage jumps hugely at Lv.70 — a well-built character can reach around 1M DPS on a training dummy. It works for both PvE and PvP because Wind and Water spells stun, blind and freeze.
Well sourced
Stat Priority
- 1. INT
- 2. DEX
- 3. VIT
One approach gets Variable Cast Time reduction to about 80% from DEX (Mystical Amplification adds another 20% while it's up), takes INT to 99, then puts the rest into VIT instead of extra DEX. Others run INT first, then DEX for cast speed and hit; a Fire-Lightning hybrid variant drops DEX entirely for INT and VIT instead.
Skills

Lightning BoltLv.10
Summons lightning to attack the target, dealing 1000%+200 Wind MDMG.First-job Wind bolt; max it early for baseline Wind damage.
ThunderstormLv.10
Calls down lightning from the sky, dealing 720%+300 Wind MDMG to up to 5 enemies within 2.5 m.Wind AoE that fits the auto-cast rotation; useful to add for solo PvE.
Cold BoltLv.10
Summons 10 ice arrows to attack the target. Each ice arrow deals 100%+20 Water MDMG.Max it for baseline Water damage.
Frost DiverLv.10
Deals 200%+100 Water MDMG to the target, with a 65% chance to Freeze them for 2.6 sec.Freeze setup; worth maxing.
Jupitel ThunderLv.5
Launches an electric orb at the target, dealing 700%+280 Wind MDMG and knocking them back 3 m. Knockback is ineffective against players.Lv.5 is enough once Storm Mastery carries the damage, though it's still worth keeping in the auto-cast rotation.
Lord of VermilionLv.10
Calls down 4 lightning strikes in the target area. Each strike deals 800%+200 Wind MDMG to up to 10 enemies within 3.5 m, with a 60% chance to inflict Blind for 2.5 sec.Main Wind AoE and the top damage source once it's stacking Electrocution.
WaterballLv.5
Launches a water ball at the target, dealing 1300%+520 Water MDMG.Adds another Water hit to the rotation.
Frost NovaLv.10
Unleashes frost around you, dealing 650%+350 Water MDMG to up to 5 enemies within 4.5 m, with a 86% chance to Freeze them for 3 sec.Freeze and peel.
Storm GustLv.10
Summons a Storm Gust in the target area for 4.5 sec. Every 0.45 sec, deals 210%+250 Water MDMG to up to 10 enemies within 4.5 m, with a 42% chance to Freeze them for 2.5 sec.Water AoE freeze; a core part of the auto-cast rotation.
Storm MasteryLv.10
When casting Storm skills, gain 2 stacks of Electrocution. While affected by Electrocution, spend 1 stack every 0.5 sec and cast Chain Lightning on the nearest nearby target, bouncing between 5 enemies and dealing 820%+350Wind MDMG. Electrocution lasts 10 sec and stacks up to 6 times.
Chain Lightning deals 20% additional Skill DMG to monsters.Storm skills build Electrocution stacks that fire chain lightning; max it for this build.
Frost MasteryLv.10
When inflicting Freeze, increases its control chance and duration by 20%. Water DMG dealt is not reduced by elemental counters, and Frost Skills deal 30% more Skill DMG to monsters.Longer and more reliable Freeze; worth maxing.
Mystical AmplificationLv.10
Increases your Magic Skill DMG by 10% and reduces Variable Cast Time by 20% for 10 sec.Magic skill damage up and Variable Cast Time -20% for 10s; max it if you can, though even Lv.5 helps while points are tight.
Soul DrainLv.7
Permanently increases Max SP by 28%. When killing an enemy, restores 6% SP.Max SP up and SP back on kills; Lv.7 is a common pick, but it won't refill SP in single-boss fights with no adds.
Gravitational Field
Greatly increases gravity in the target area, dealing 2140%+2000 Neutral MDMG to up to 10 enemies within a 4 m radius.Optional for this build — a Ghost-line AoE that isn't essential to the Ice-Lightning rotation.
Rotation
- Auto-cast Mystical Amplification, Lord of Vermilion, Thunderstorm and Storm Gust; cast the rest by hand.
- An alternative auto set: Mystical Amplification, Storm Gust, Lord of Vermilion and Jupitel Thunder, plus Thunderstorm for solo PvE.
- Cast Mystical Amplification before a damage window. Its cooldown is longer than its duration, so expect a few seconds of slower casting between uses.
- Fix your cast time first — a spell that lands on time beats a bigger one that gets interrupted.

ResonanceViews differ here. Some go pure Gale (green) plus Lumina (yellow); a more balanced page (2 Gale, 2 Aqua, 2 Lumina and 1 Pyro) works for both PvE and PvP; Gale plus Aqua (Wind + Water) suits players who want smooth, fast casting over raw burst. Lumina at 4 marks adds +8% damage against targets with a status effect, and Gale at 7 marks gives Fixed Cast Time -25%.
Relics
INT relic set (blue 2-piece sets)
Until your purple 4-piece sets are complete, blue 2-piece sets are worth running since they need only 2 pieces each; four sets give +12 INT total.
Special Skills (Affixes)

Tips
- One dummy test went from roughly 100-120k DPS as a Wizard to about 520k DPS right after the Lv.70 advancement; a heavily invested account reached about 1M DPS (121M in 2 minutes) in September.
- Electrocution, Lord of Vermilion, Thunderstorm and Storm Gust are the top damage sources, so keep all of them on auto.
- This setup can get expensive to fully gear, but F2P players can still add a lot of control with the same skills.
- A good Lv.55 Royal or orange staff can beat a Lv.70 yellow staff, so don't replace a strong weapon just for item level.
- Weapon enchants: an Arcane Spirit gem for MATK and DEX, or a Spell / Magic Essence gem set.
