Crusader Shield Tank

CrusaderMain tank / physical counterAs of 2026-08 (SEA, Crusader released 2026-08-06; Paladin at level 70)

The official Shield build: Smite and Shield Boomerang for damage and control, Reflect Shield and Defender for melee and ranged mitigation, and Faith and Sacrifice to protect the party. In SEA, Crusader went live on Aug 6, a day after the level 70 advancement, so most guides show it already as a Paladin; use this as the pre-70 skill base.

Tips

  • Most shield-tank special skills people chase (Fierce Assault) need the Paladin skill Rapid Smiting, so they only pay off after level 70.
  • The Shield build is meant to counter melee physical jobs with Reflect Shield and Auto Guard.
  • Confidence is low since there isn't a SEA guide focused solely on pre-70 Crusader; these picks are inferred from the Crusader sections of Paladin build guides.
