Penalties for Trading Violations

To protect the rights and gaming experience of all adventurers, Ragnarok: The New World remains committed to maintaining a fair and impartial gaming environment.

The prices of certain in-game items may be freely set by sellers and are not restricted by the recommended price. Freely priced items will enter a 1-hour public listing period, during which all players may only view them. Once the listing period ends, the items will be listed on the Trade House and become available for purchase. To maintain fair and reasonable transactions through the Trade House, face-to-face trading, Stalls, and other trading features in Ragnarok: The New World, corresponding penalties will be imposed for “Trade Abuse.”

“Trade Abuse” includes, but is not limited to, the following conduct:

1. Any purchase, sale, or transaction conducted through the Trade House by using unauthorized third-party programs, malicious software, game exploits, or any other method that violates normal game settings or the principles of fairness and reasonableness.

2. Colluding with another party to raise or lower the price of an item on the Trade House, or to circumvent the game’s intended methods of obtaining game currency or items through the Trade House, including arranging for the other party to buy or sell an item at an agreed price when the item is listed or purchased.

3. Repeatedly purchasing an item at a high price or selling it at a low price, either personally or in another person’s name, with the intent to raise or lower its Trade House price, where such conduct may affect the item’s price or disrupt the game ecosystem or order.

4. Conducting continuous, large-volume, or repeated matched transactions through the Trade House, personally or in another person’s name, to create a false appearance of active trading or to circumvent the game’s intended methods of obtaining game currency or tradable items.

5. Any other direct or indirect manipulation that affects the prices of items traded through the Trade House.

6. In connection with the Trade Abuse described above, creating large numbers of game accounts or frequently logging in to and operating multiple accounts from the same IP address, device, or location—including, but not limited to, identical or similar IP addresses or devices with the same computer identifier—to obtain or transfer items, game currency, or other instruments serving the same trading function.

※For the purposes of the game service, the trading system refers to all trading systems accessible through the game, web, or mobile application, including the Trade House, face-to-face trading, Stall transactions, and other related features.

※In the event of a violation, additional penalties will be imposed in addition to the recovery of game currency, equipment, and items.

The penalties are as follows:

Freeze Funds	If the transaction fails review, the funds will be transferred to Store Funds and frozen in the Trade House, with withdrawals prohibited. The frozen amount will be determined based on the violating transaction.	A single-item transaction that meets Item 2, 3, or 6 under “Trade Abuse.”
Freeze Trading	All trading activities are prohibited, including buying, selling, transferring in, and transferring out.	Trading conduct that meets Item 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 under “Trade Abuse.”

For a first violation, the game operator will notify the adventurer. If the adventurer fails to correct the violation after receiving notice, the game operator may restrict the adventurer’s right to use the game according to the Game Management Rules and the severity of the circumstances.

If an adventurer commits another violation for the same reason, the game operator may immediately restrict the adventurer’s right to access the game. Each such restriction will last seven days.

Upon a third violation, the game operator may terminate the provision of game services after notifying the adventurer.

To give adventurers who have violated the rules an opportunity to continue using free trading features, Ragnarok: The New World provides the following redemption options for players subject to fund or trading restrictions:

[Freeze Funds]

1. Funds Freeze Explanation: The offcials will determine whether a single transaction or transactions within a given period generated Irregular Funds according to the definition of Trade Abuse. Irregular Funds are defined as follows:

-If a single transaction is deemed irregular, all funds obtained through that transaction will be treated as Irregular Funds.

-If Trade Abuse occurs during a transaction period, the difference between Zeny received from sales and Zeny spent on purchases during that period will be treated as Irregular Funds.

2. Penalized adventurers who wish to lift the freeze early may pay a Redemption Fee. The fee is calculated by converting the Irregular Funds into Starstones and then multiplying the result by 1.5 (1 Starstone = 1,000 Zeny).

Alternatively, adventurers may wait until the penalty period ends, after which the system will automatically lift the freeze.

Example:

If the irregular transaction amount is 1,000,000 Zeny, the required payment is: 1,000,000 ÷ 1,000 × 1.5 = 1,500 Starstones.

3. A Funds Freeze only restricts the withdrawal of Shop Funds. It does not restrict buying or selling items on the Trade House.

4. After the Redemption Fee is paid, the equivalent amount of [Zeny] will be returned to your character according to the in-game conversion rate: 1 Starstone = 1,000 Zeny.

[Trade House Restriction]

1. Players who wish to lift a Trade House restriction early may pay a specified redemption fee in [Starstones], or decline to pay and wait for the penalty period to end.

2. After the redemption fee is paid, [Gold Coins] will be returned to your character at the corresponding ratio. The ratio is the same as the in-game exchange rate: 1 Starstone = 10 Gold Coins.
